AirSoft pellets for weights in the big tires
The new tires on the rear were balanced when I got them put on. Smooth as a baby's butt when I had them on the front. They were a little taller so I put them on the back. The now front tires are some used ones I got off of CL, and they have that baance wobble around 45MPH. I mounted them, so they weren't balanced. I've been told running good quality AirSoft pellets do a great job on the tires to help balance them out. Anyone try this?

Those will work also golf balls will work. With golf balls usually takes about 5 per tire. Though for the first few minutes on the road it'll ride rough till it balances out.

The golf ball thing is new to me. I have only heard of the pellet. I have heard it works very well.

Golf balls sound like they would be too big. Maybe not. I guess its worth a try.

yikes, golf balls just dont seem like they would spread out as nicely as balancing beads or airsoft pellets. and im sure its pretty rough each time you try to get up to speed

After sleeping on it, I kind of thought that too. They would definitely be more durable. I think I'll try the Air-Soft pellets.
Re: AirSoft pellets for weights in the big tires
i use bowling balls in my tires...they're terrible for balancing. i think im ganna switch to volley balls.
Re: AirSoft pellets for weights in the big tires
I've got a ball and chain in mine. Some reason I don't get very far.

But I bet if you can get them rolling just right, inertia will take over. Never stop!Lock~N~Low wrote:i use bowling balls in my tires...they're terrible for balancing. i think im ganna switch to volley balls.

Me too. The Air soft pellets were recommended because they don't corrode and leave a mess.

A whole can in each. Walmart, $8 or $9 a carton/canister/jar thing.
