Bonaparte 10.8.11

Post by MudRaider on 10/8/2011, 5:13 pm

A great little spot, 7 trucks showed bright and early, and it was a fun place. No breakage, not too bad in the way of sticky place.

i had a blast, it was a pretty cool place and tearing through the narrow trails was real fun.

well, almost no breakage...lol

i think the total damage was. Jaxwranglerunlimited broke a tow hook, i burnt up a battery, and the other Red XJ sunk the motor and was trailered out

Hey the rain made that place better. That mud hole got nasty too. The trails were the best part. We had no idea where we were headed just kept moving through til we found our way out.

Raining, can't do anything and the MudRaider won't fit in the garage so I'll post up some pics; right after getting there, getting our bearings

I believe this is the one that ended up getting hydrolocked. He was tearing it up out there, hope it is nothing major. No This was the mud hole before it got dug out. It's first victim! Tony's Montero on 31's. Just not big enough to get thru it at first. "Hey buddy, you look stuck." Catherine being a good sport and hooking it up!

There was dead trees to get over. Creek beds to negotiate! no pics of that, it had started raing. So we just went and wallered in the mud hole! Lookout for the tsunami!

I got 70 something pics, thanks to my boy Malik. Still working on getting the videos to down load. Kind of aggravating! Here's a direct link to my Photobucket with all the pics!

No worries.. We all got stuck there in 4wd but I did make it in 2wd as I recall I was the only one.
Anyway on the note of breaking my tow hook I will need your assistance with welding again. It actually ripped the bolts out of the frame not broke the hook. So have to some how figure a way to fix where those bolts mounted as that's what my winch mounts onto.

Would it be possible to just use a nut and bolt? With the headlight bar welded in, it is kind of hard to get the bumper off to get to that. Drill it out and run a Grade 8 bolt and lock nuts?

The kids took some pretty good pictures, didn't they? I'm pretty impressed. Wish I could figure out how to get the videos off the damn camera.

Dude, yours would of killed that sandy hole. Good thing if you'd of been there is yours is powerful enough to have dug it out in the center and we would of made it. Maybe next time!
