Gas guzzling issue...

Post by Guest on 10/11/2011, 9:07 am

I'm not sure if this is even an issue. But this KJ I believe has a 18 1/2 gal tank. I have been getting just less than 200 miles on each filled to the neck tank. thats like 11-12 miles a gal. So far I changed the plugs, temp sensor, all the fluids. I also checked all the vacuum lines for a leak, although i may have missed one. I also sprayed starting fluid around the top of the engine looking for any kind of air leak. I've searched the internet and all i can find is to change the O2 sensors. If either of those were bad i would get a code and the engine light would come on. Anyone have an idea what else i can do?

I don't think the joe johns JY has anything that is newer than 5 years old. They don't want to pay anything for what they get in.

i would check your muddy air filter...if you have mud on your hood its more than likely in the breather box too. then i would see what kind of injectors you have. if you have the right kind they can be switched out with more fuel efficient styles from another vehicle.

injector 0280155703 is compatible to injector 5303034 that is found in stock 4.0
4.0 injectors have one hole that jets fuel into the intake... injector 0280155703 has four holes which mist the fuel into the intake.
Injector 0280155703 came in :
CHRYSLER CIRRUS LX (1995-1997)
" " LXI (1997)
CHRYSLER SEBRING JX (1996-1997)
" " JXI (1997)
DODGE CARAVAN (1996-1997)
" " SE (1996-1997)
DODGE GRAND CARAVAN (1996-1997)
" " SE (1996-1997)
DODGE NEON (1995-1997)
DODGE NEON HIGHLINE (1995-1997)
DODGE NEON SPORT (1995-1997)
DODGE STRATUS (1995-1997)
DODGE STRATUS ES (1995-1997)
PLYMOUTH BREEZE (1996)
This swap should improve fuel efficiency and throttle response
