i would build my own. but it looks like this build will not happen. melissa's rodeo quit and now she has the port back. i might take the rodeo and build it into a 4x4. don't know yet.

Sounds like you need to fix the rodeo and get the 4x4 back. It breaks, so now you get it back and are going to convert it to 4x4 AFTER you get it running. What kind of sense does that make. Why not just fix it and she gets it back and you have your 4x4. She has no need for 4WD, just a running, dependable ride.

she wants 4x4 to. it depends on what is wrong with it on which way i go. if i build the rodeo it will be a monster. 5.3 ls v8, 4l80 tranny,d44's f/r on 35's., coil over or air shox suspension, it would be a long build but it would be badass when done. and i could use the port to wheel in now. and tax time we plan on buying a mini van again so i might just end up with both....plus my dad might be giving us the jeep back.

I was counting the Jeep too.
1. Passport- 4WD
2. Rodeo - 4WD
3. Jeep - 4WD
4. Minivan - 2WD beater

That would be a nice collection.

well i just picked up a 1998 dodge 2500 4x4 v10 5spd. its rough and motor has a spun bearing but it has d80 rear with a locker(detroit) and d60 or 70 front, bridgestone duelers,4:1 tcase, nv4500 tranny....well worth what i paid for it....VERY cheap! and the axles are going under the passport but i need to trade the front d60 for a pass side drop d60 8lug.

Sounds like you should be able to part it out and have plenty of build money. Sweet! cheers

you need to use that tranny get an adapter its very strong with overdrive !! its 1 of the most 4x4 tranny swaps and you keep the drive shafts and t-case so you keep your axles easy swap call advanced adapters only 500. or so

This could get interesting. Only 4.10 gears? With 38's-42's? Trans/transfer case geared accordingly?
