Winch Plate

Post by Pitbullguiller on 2/16/2012, 3:54 pm

I just got a winch and looking for a winch plate so I can mount it on my YJ.

Or should I buy this: http://www.jcroffroad.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Store_Code=J&Screen=PROD&Category_Code=SWBB&Product_Code=SWB-F-STUB

My wife is going to kill me if I keep buying stuff for the jeep.

Dude, that's a nice bumper, would go on quick and could mount the winch quick. Maybe she won't notice it if you get it mounted quick.

Lol thats what I was thinking. So bumper is 300.00 shipped plus I have to get it powder coated so it might as well be a 400.00 bumper. if I was to get the winch plate it would only cost 60 dollars.

what would you guys do in my case?

Nice winch bumper or save money and go for winch plate?

Well, a winch plate is not a bumper. How much time will it take for you to fabricate (read that as spend time away from her. This is the direction I would go if you have that kind of argument over it. "But baby, It would have me out in the garage for hours on end. Now I get to be with you while they ship it!" Worth a shot.

And instead of powder-coating, why not rhino-line it? Have you seen Dirty's jeep? his is rhino-lined, and it has held up pretty good. Ask him about it.

I am going to buy it from my hidden Jeep acct. LOL

How much is it to powdercoat that bumper? I have been told 100.00 from guy on phyllips hwy and 100 to 150 from guy down Wells rd in OP.. Is that too much?

Anyone want to open an acct just for their 4x4 or project let me know. You also set up an automatic transfer to take place monthly to keep it healthy.

I finally got the JCR bumper mounted on the jeep! I really like it!! I got it powder coated an anodize silver for a bit of a different look. Got the Craigslist 8000 Warn winch and the lightforce lights that I bought from Dirty.
