I have a 89 xj and my steering is super sensitive all my tie rod ends and all are fine and some are new and i have oversize tires but if i just barely move the wheel while driving it jerks like im trying to dodge something. is there a way to adjust the tightness of the steering box? does anyone know what im talking about? is anyone else saying WTF yet? anyways let me know what you think. also it doesnt pull to the left or right it tracks pretty straight. ok let me know

You don't know what that thing has had done to it, that;s an issue. I had a problem like that on my V-8 S-10. 84 S-10, with an 84 Camaro 350. Had the V-8 power steering pump on it and it would do what you said. than an old hot rodder told me to switch the guts from my V-6 power steering pump into the V8 pump. Problem solved. turns out different springs make difference for what steering box you have. Is that a possibility with Jeeps?

Steering feel real tight? Or just very responsive?

If too responsive, try to set the toe 1/4" in. That should make it feel right

Yeah , start with the obvious stuff first. Full on wheel alignment, not a wal-mart one either. You'll need to find someone who does them one lifted, big tired vehicles. I'm wondering if a previous poster, (hmmm, hmmm) might know of a place.

lol,

odds are though its just the toe being set to far out.

you can set it in your driveway with a tape measure and a friend if you wanted.
