Project: bordom patrol
well this is my latest attempt for a trail rig. i have done lots of research and really like what i found. its a 2000 kia sportage 4x4...ok get off the floor and stop laughing...
the jellybean is getting a 3-4" lift and 31's and lockers.....maybe toy or older grand waggy axles....then i would got to 33's. custom bumpers and a winch will be added. here it is so far
and the rear end and suspension.....

Re: Project: bordom patrol
the only thing i dont like about it right now is the tranny. jeff thats what this sport is or....build something you like not what pleases eveyone else. there are millions of jeeps out there...how many kias? before you talk down on them watch youtube and see what they can do....you will be impressed...thats why i chose one. they are coils all around but amarm up front. stock tj springs(rear) will lift the rear 3.5 and spacers will lift front. thats how i will run it for now. and it only has 205/70-15 tires on it and so far so good......with 31's its going to have great clearence and the 104" wb is going to help alot. its a factory long arm in rear and is framed.....its a great platform to start with. the motor is a mazda fe3 dohc 2.0...i just wish it had an automatic tranny. i might do a axle swap later in the future using waggys or toys. but firts i have to replace the water pump. then the lift and some trimming and tires...then go from there. might lincoln lock it for now.
Re: Project: bordom patrol
I mean look at m starting with a 2wd xterra. Also troy when I get new coilovers you can have my stock ones which will probably give you some lift

Re: Project: bordom patrol
cool...but i think they will be too stiff and tall...i need tj 104's for a perfect ride and 3.5 lift
Re: Project: bordom patrol
well my water pump went out so i replaced the timimg belt also. but went i was taking it apart i noticed that the cam marks were off. the i one tooth before and the e one tooth after. had low power especially with ac on. well i put the left cam dead on and right cam one tooth before...wow what a difference.it spins the tires easy even with ac on. i did a seafoam treatment and it got a little better. it idles great now no hesitation at all and the lope is gone. evrytime i do something to this thing it impresses me. very easy to work on, fun to drive and they wheel good even in stock form. can't wait to do more to it like some weight reduction and the lift and tires.......more to come

Re: Project: bordom patrol
yeah i am amazed by this little "waste of time"....lol. i cannot wait for the lift and tires...then lockers....
i like it that people under estimate these things....i like to see their jaw drop when it does what it does...plus it leaves more out there for me to get and fix up...looking for another one now..maybe two. i want to make mine a automatic.

Re: Project: bordom patrol
