just picked up some metal to start closing it in. i am hoping late tomorrow it will be dang near done.

i used the roof rails to make side panels to fill the gap between the hatch and roof shell. works pretty dang good. the rear d-pillars were capped also with plate steel. everything with get welded and glassed in.

my hi-lift mount i made. used the spare tire mount and welded supports to the floor.

loving the progress so far... it takes alot of commitment to cut into the body like that...lol
as for under the window, how about a kind of built in toolbox

That is looking good. I always wonder what makes someone cut into a ride like that, but it usually turns out decent and always here about improved performance from the weight savings. I should work on that for me.

i have seriously lost 300+ pounds. the carpet,headliner,interior trim and all sound deadener is gone. and the lack of some metal really helps. it is actually higher in the back now by about 2".

well got it ready for a skim coat of finish bondo and then i can start on the bulkhead then the tailgate.

very true. but mine is already set apart...i am actually making it look good not just like i cut my top off. when all said and done i want it to look like the factory built a zj truck.
