Lincoln Locker hopefully getting done tomorrow
Got my spare front diff out of my soon to be V8 Raider tonight. Will be taking it to work where our fabricator can weld it up with his mig welder. I'm excited to see how it works out with the air locker in the rear. Pics will be posted after it is welded.
Re: Lincoln Locker hopefully getting done tomorrow
I hope. Our fabricator has never done one before. The right way to do it is to weld a bit then let it cool down a little, then go back to it. Hopefully with his workload, he has a project that is supposed to be done by tomorrow, that he will get to it and get it done properly. I know i cleaned all the 90weight out of it

Done. I just need to clean it up and get it in before Saturday. I'll post some pics tomorrow. First 15 hour day for me in a while.

just be sure that if you are cleaning it out with brake clean, then let it sit atleast overnight before welding it. the gasses formed from igniting brake clean fumes with welding gasses can be fatal

I read that article floating around the web about the dude who did that. I left a fan on it overnight, then it sat all day till we were done. Scary stuff raeding that, with what happened to the dude!
Re: Lincoln Locker hopefully getting done tomorrow
i had a welded rear D35 in my daily driver. it was freakin awesome. i could out wheel some of the best. i never had any issues with it.
Re: Lincoln Locker hopefully getting done tomorrow
It's done. Pics is before I cleaned it out. hopefully get off work at a decent time to get it in tomorrow night!

Re: Lincoln Locker hopefully getting done tomorrow
Yeah, our fabricator wasn't happy with them. His gun was too big to get real close. He was kind of aggravated about it, kept apologizing about them. His welds on the cans and trucks look good, so i can understand his frustration. He's not worried about them breaking.
Re: Lincoln Locker hopefully getting done tomorrow
Took it for a test drive. Hmmmm. Interestring. we'll see it's manners out on the trails to decide if I like it.
