What is the purpose of the "Stinger?"
I see these on vehicles, and it seemed I first noticed them on trucks and they all seemed to have winches. I thought, OK, winch protection. Then I started noticing them on vehicles without winches, and there was no way a winch was going to be fitted to the bumper. Is there some other use for them, or is it just something to have? Reminds me of the WW2 movies of the Jeeps with the post up front to cut wires as they are driving along,
Re: What is the purpose of the "Stinger?"
There's many different purposes for a stinger.
1: To protect your hood if u roll
2: To protect your radiator
3: To create balance
4: Look good
5: To see where your front bumper is positioned/ center of vehicle
Probably more but those r a few

Can keep you from flipping forward, dropping in to a crevass, protects hood and radiator, and last great for sitting on while working under the hood.
