TOTM ideas?

i dont know how many of you are familiar with pirate4x4. but they do a "Topic of the month" thread every month there. and its a great way to fill a site with usefull info. each month you have a thread to discuss and post pictures on certain topics... like, traction bars, axle swaps, homebrew suspensions, shocks, ect.
how do yall feel about starting up one of these every month?

Nick, you work with this stuff all the time. If you would like to throw something out there monthly I for one will be looking forward to it. Go for it. All I ask is that if someone else has an idea for something, pass it thru one of the Moderators or Admins so we don't have multiple threads monthly. If you come up with something, maybe need help on how to present it, ask us and we can help you post it in a concise and read-able manner.

There is no need for an extra mod. The site is too small for all these mods and admins. I have said many times we need to stay on topic. That is the mods job. Troy if you want it since you own the site let them know what they need to do. If a mod can not do it find a different one and let that one know they are not needed any more.
On topic, I think that would be cool if we had topic of the month. The only problem is that there are not many built rigs on here to have large decisions on certain topics.

yea, i can understand that.
maybe the threads would be a good way for others to ask questions on the certain topic. kind of like an active Q&A and a way for others to share whatever knowledge they have on the topic

I don't understand what Frankie means by what he said. I was trying to say what you said Nick, about asking questions. Along the lines of the NP231 rebuild you did, for instance. I was curious if the pictured chain was the "heavy-duty" one that I hear people telling Troy to put in his. The other part I was trying to say was that anyone could submit one, but it should go thru one of the Admins (not Mods) to get cleared to post. These should be accurate, and those 3 Admins seem web sophisticated enough to do some verifying that info is correct. After it is posted, let the Q & A begin. And if multiple people come up with write-ups, then they can be saved and used when it starts getting thin. My $.02.

i am looking into this whole matter...i will get back to my mods a decision. i am going to be talking to the other two admin and then the mods....now admins and mods quit bickering with each other. if there is a problem contact me and lets work it out. we do not need to lose anybody here...everyone is valuable to this site.

I'm not trying to be argumentative, I just don't understand what he meant by his statement. If he expanded on it I am sure it would make sense.I've read it a bunch of times, and the only thing I can come up with is he is possibly talking about BIG modifications. I dunno, he'll get back on here and make it make sense.

TOTM is a great idea. I see no problem with it other than if you get into talking about 4 link and 3 link stuff and if only a few people know what's up it can only really be TOTWeek. On pirate4x4 they have a lot of built truck and a lot of guys there with tons of know how. Hey try it out and see what happens. If it works then good stuff great for the site. If it fails then we know maybe at a later date it will work.

Thats a great Idea. The more info we can have on offcamber4x4.org the more hits the site might get and it will allow for more growth. Step by steps w/ pics would be great.

No one needs to head it up per say. Just as a topic comes out make it TOTM and go with it. Or Week as I stated before

. if it just runs however it will be just like the rest of this forum. so what i perpose is that us admin sit and talk about the mod thing...we will put people in the section they need to be in.
