Harmonic Balancer/crankshaft pulleys
Right now I have (3) 2.6 engines apart right now. I grabbed the nicest one out of the bin and put it on the crank. Today while installing the oil pan I noticed balance points on the block side of the pulley. Most of my experience with engines is with VW's, and anytime I've dealt with a crank pulley/harmonic balancer, I've always just used the one that was already on the engine. Do I need to worry that I grabbed the wrong one, or do they normally balance these as a separate piece, not as part of an assembly with the crank?

Re: Harmonic Balancer/crankshaft pulleys
I talked with a few people, and one of them used to work at the Chrysler Plant in Fenton MO. He said that they are done separately, to where they are balanced to go with any crankshaft and not to any specific one. Now we all know.
