Transfer Case 231J
A buddy of mine has a 2000 Cherokee. We picked it up thinking it wouldnt be too much to fix the problems. Well, It was more than we expected. We found that the Transfer Case has a crack in the bottom on the piece that connects to the trans. I have this 89 in my garage that I am pulling about to pull the insides out out to replace his case only. I took it out tonight. It looks good. Too bad its 21 spline not 23. I have never taken one apart so I am being careful and making sure I keep everything I take off in the correct order. I need a larger socket for the yoke to the front DS. I think I will be getting that from Mike tomorrow. I have already learned of an easier way to pull it apart. When I get his here I will be able to swap it all faster with what I have learned.
I try to post any pictures I take along the way.
