V8 Ranger Mud Truck

I had this 1988 Ford Ranger that I was planning to build into a Mud Truck. I have had it for like 2yrs. My plan was to install a 302 that is bored .40 over with 289 heads. Well, I finally got it going.

We started by pulling the body off.



Then we got the new full width Ford 9" installed.

Now, the front is actually getting installed




In goes the 302. This was fun to get mounted.

The rear is sitting lower. I will get it more balanced. It is running now but is not finished. After testing it my first plan is to take it to the superbowl mud bog at Hogwaller in Palatka

Also, Those are not the wheels or tires that will be on it. Those are for sale.

I have continued to work on this mud truck and my Jeep when I have time.

Exhaust

Too much of a pain in the ass bc I would have to lift the hood over the exhaust each time to open it. This way it's clean and easy.

Looks good man. Nice simple leaf spring lift. Ill look for it at hogwaller next time I'm out there.

Thanks and its not actually a kit. It is all custom. We welding on all the brackets and everything.

Yeah I noticed from the pics. Looks real good. I'll bet its a blast.

We had a fun time. Was just a quick test. The real test will be this coming weekend at Hogwaller Mud Bog.
