My dad has a stock fj and it does pretty good in dunes, but they have horrible blind spots and easily get knocked out of alignment

So I get from what you are saying the things we do his would not do so well? It's ok for the soccer mom to take to the beach, but not ready to steal the "trail-rated" badge from Jeep?

i just checked...fj's are live rear axle...not independent....ifs front/solid rear on coils and links......factory

I stand corrected I could have sworn it was irs but I guess the coilovers instead of leafs threw me off

just a standard coil/shock setup, not coilovers (for the rear)

Strange to me. Used to coilovers. I guess to lift one you could just do longer shocks and bigger coils?

Nope, not me, no fog lights yet. Too busy too worry about that for that one yet. Still working on carb issues. No time to mess with accessories like that yet.

The only thing, obviously wrong with it was pretty funny. The tank you see in the bed, thru the window? That is his fuel "cell". that was like I said the only obvious thing.
